Engine problem
1990 Honda Accord Engine Size unknown 109000 miles

I have had this car for 3 years now and a couple of months ago I started noticing that when I am sitting at stop lights my car starts to shake. It also seems that the longer I sit there the worse it gets. I also notice the RPM's going below 1,000 when I sit at these long stop lights. This car also has loose motor mounts and the struts are also becoming very worn. I am wondering what is wrong with the engine and how much it would cost to fix these problems. This is my first car and it would be stupid of me to get rid of it if it wouldn't be too much trouble to fix it. I do have access to a car shop and a mechanic that would only charge for the parts. What do you think is wrong with the engine?

Generally, the problems you are experiencing can be attributed to a miss in the engine. Bad wire, plug, etc. BUT that said, and you did mention the mounts, they can be either the problem or part of the problem.
