Why does my tachometer jump up and down when my car is surging during accelaration. What would be the compnents I need to check. I replaced the plug wire and fuel filter and that fixed it for aa while but now its back.

Hi justin wooto,

If the tachometer is jumping wildly and not in relations to the engine speed, the ignition coils is most likely to be faulty.

The vehicle would be jerking badly during acceleration.
