I have a 1984 Honda Accord, 1.8L 4 cyl, w/5 speed manual tranny. One day it was fine, the next day the idle goes up to 3000 rpm. I replaced the carb (3 bbl Keihin) and the problem remains. It runs well and has 205,000 miles, but when you stop, it idles up to 3000 rpm. I can't figure it out. What should I do?

I might check the PCV and other vacuum lines.

I replaced the pvc hose and the idle has gone down to 2500 rpm. Do you think the o2 sensor could cause the problem?

Yes it could but would I start there? No. Is the idle constant? Make sure you check all vac hoses for connection and wear.
