1983 Honda Accord Engine cleaning

1983 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I have heard that if you clean the deposits out of a high mileage engine that it will ruin it. Is this true?

Hi Natchez,

To clean an engine internal parts, you need to disassemble it to do a good job. All those flushing jobs would not do a good job of cleaning and this might cause more harm than good.

A good engine oil would bring out the sludge from the engine during oil changes and oil treatment are the main cause for deposits.

I would suggest not doing anything unless you want to do a rebuild job.
