Steering front end noise. I have a 2004 Impala, and when I'm stoped hit the brakes I hear I slight noise, and feel some play in the steering. I have had the brakes replaced recently, and they said I needed new bushing, but when I went to another place they told me the bushings were fine.

Play in the steering could be loose tie rods. Noise in the brakes could be caliper slides that need lubed.

When I move steering wheel back and forth there is a knocking noise. I can feel it when I move the steering wheel. But if you get outside the vehicle, you can't hear anything. What could this be?

It's the intermediate shaft, very common problem. Also have the front end checked could have other problems.

Sounds like it could be a belt problem like a weak tensioner or worn belt.
