Can a Carter VSICTRP 4070 electric fuel pump be installed into the supply line to replace the stock pump?

A stock pump costs $300.
A 4070 costs $75

About 220.00 at rock auto plus ten for a new wiring harness, which by the way did you unplug it and check for corrosion, or melting?
