The engine starts immediately when cold but when warm it has to crank for several seconds before starting. There are no error codes showing up on the OBD. What to look at first?

Need to know which engine your truck has. The 8th digit of the VIN#. Have you had the fuel pressure checked with a manual gauge? Could be a bad fuel pressure regulator.

The eighth digit is a T which indicates the 5.3L engine. No, I have not checked fuel pressure yet, I wanted to get some input on where to start first instead of just randomly checking things.

Start there. Located drivers side on the fuel rail with a vacuum line going to intake. Remove line at reg and look for fuel, if any is present in the line, replace the regulator

That was the problem. Fuel was in the vacuum line.
Replaced the pressure regulator and all is normal.
Thanks for your assistance
