My 97 Jimmy has been parked and not ran since April. It did not have any issues starting when I parked it. Upon trying to start it recently, it will not start. It sits cranking indefinitely.

I've put in 6.5 gallons of fresh gas. I have checked 2 spark plug wires and have spark from both of them. When I removed one of the spark plugs, it was wet with gas. The distributor was a little loose, I tightened it down. The Check Engine Light is on so I'll be grabbing an OBD reader to check the codes, but I wanted to get some possible dialog going on this.

Any ideas?

Check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter, intank pick-up sock and fuel pump.

Scan the computer for code/s

If the pressure is within spec, it eliminates all 3 of those components as suspects? I'll check that along with codes soon and get back to you.

Bought a $52 pressure tester; pressure was fine. I had the inclination last nite to check the dizzy for corrosion but decided against it as I was tired. Oops, should have done that before spending $52. Cap & rotor had pretty bad corrosion on the contacts. Scraped them clean(er) and it started without much issue.

Wonder if I can return this tester :x

Thanks for the help anyhow
