1996 GMC Jimmy Cant drop the fuel tank

There are 2 straps that hold the tank in the vehicle. You will also need to remove the filler neck, it is strong enough to hold the tank in even if the straps are removed. Be prepeared, gas weighs 6lbs per gallon, so depending on how much is in it, it will be heavy and akward if the fuel begins sloshing around. Also you need to lower it slowly with ajack, the fuel lines will need to be removed about half way out, they most likely arent long enough to stretch far enough to set the tank on the ground.
