2003 GMC Envoy Auxiliary Blower

Auxiliary Blower does not work. Every once in a while it will blow when turned on but even then fan speeds do not change. Usually when you try to change the fan speed it shuts off.

Sounds like the fan speed resistor is shorting out. It is located near the blower motor for the auxilary unit. Since the voltage drop (fan speed change) is done at the resistor, use a test light to verify power in at all different fan speeds, if there is power in, the resistor is bad
