I can't get it to go into gear?

My hazards and break lights shorted out fried from the fuse block up the steering column I changed the steering column and now I can't get it to go into gear

So can you tell me if the shifter is moving and you see the gear range lights moving, or the shifter moves and it feels like nothing is connected or if it feels like it is working but the transmission is no going into gear, I need more information to help you. Please upload a short video in your response of the problem, so I can see what's going on. Ken
