The car will not accelerate much beyond idle. It previously had trouble starting so I would press the gas pedal when starting. What steps do I need to know to succeed?

Hello, I'm Danny.
The first thing you should do is perform a fuel pressure test. If you don't have access to a fuel pressure tester most auto parts stores have a tool loaner program and can rent you one. Here is a tutorial showing what is involved performing a fuel pressure test:
The fuel pressure specification for your car is 50 PSI at idle. After you perform this test get back to us and we'll go from there. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

I can't remove the fuel pump connector. I broke a small piece. Is there a replacement if I break it?

Hello again.
Can you use your cell phone to take a picture of the connector and upload it here? That way I will have any idea what it looks like and where to find a replacement. Get back to us and we'll go from there. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Yes, I followed the instructions, the only problem was the breakage of the clip. I drove it to work and back and have been unable to get it to start since.

Hello again.
So with the broken clip does the harness keep unplugging causing the fuel pump to not work, car not start?

Hello again.
Okay, next step is to pull the spark plugs individually and see if you're getting spark to the cylinders. Crank the engine over with the spark plug connected to the spark plug wire while not mounted in the cylinder head to see if its getting spark. Here is a tutorial showing cranking-no start theory:
I've attached picture steps below showing spark plug replacement for your vehicle. Keep us updated. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
