How can I check if the fuel pump relay is bad on my car? I push in on it to see if I heard a click when the key was turned and I only heard one click not a continuous click is that a sign that it is bad?

Hello,

If you heard a click when it was supposed to come on it is working correctly. You should only here one click. I have included in the diagrams below a diagram of a relay. Pull it up. A relay is simply a switch, like a light switch in your house. Here's how it works. When electricity is supplied to the coil side, in this case from the ignition switch, the coil (an electromagnet) is energized. When the electromagnet (coil) is energized it pulls the switch closed, completing the circuit. So look at it like the electromagnet (coil) is you, turning on the light switch in your house. I hope I made sense. Let us know if I didn't, and I will try again.

Thanks,
Alex

I only heard one click from the relay itself when the car was being cranked. This is the picture of the relay I have.

Hello again,

If you heard the relay "click" then it is working.
