Changed fuel pump couple weeks ago and it was fine. But now when I shift from 1st to 2nd it acts like it is in 5th. It will be fine then one second the check engine light flashes and it won't accelerate right. I don't have the money to take it to the shop.

Okay. If the check engine light is flashing then that means there is a current and severe issue.

Usually means there is a misfire that needs to be corrected so we need to start with getting codes and finding out what it is telling us the issue is.

If this is a misfire then here is a guide that will get us started with what we need to do to address this:

However, the reason you are seeing the issue in second gear is most likely just the time that it presents the misfire or other issue and not necessarily related to the transmission.

Unfortunately at this point we need to know what codes are there or we will just be guessing at the issue but the likely issue is a misfire so let's start with this and we can go from there. Thanks
