I just put a new fuel pump and filter on my truck three weeks ago. Yesterday my truck would not start the pump is not coming on. This makes fuel pump number two since August 26, 2018. What should I try next?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

You may have just gotten a bad pump. Have you checked to see if there is power to the pump? I have had some bad experiences with aftermarket pumps over the years, so that is my first suspect. Unless, you tell me there is no power to the pump or you lost ground.

Also, if there is a restriction in the fuel line, that can cause fuel pump failure. Has the filter been replaced? Have you checked to make sure there are no kinks in the rubber lines going to the sending unit?

Let me know what you have checked so far.

Take care,
Joe
