Was on way home from work, car just died, drifted off road, so I done basic rundown, went over all fuses and was good, pulled spark plug wire to check for spark and was good, then I checked for fuel at fuel rail, no fuel, but I can hear fuel pump kick on and run few seconds when I turn ignition on. So I do not know if it's common to hear pump activate properly. But no fuel or can pump still be bad but kicking on as should?
Also checked plugs as a precaution to rail and front 3 plugs was completely dry after turning over few seconds. So definitely pump running but no fuel to rail above injectors.

Thank you, Chris Martin, Virginia

The few times I've had the pump run without any fuel at the rail I found contamination in the fuel tank and or a completely clogged fuel filter, not to say it's not possible to have a pump run without pressure and no contamination, but I can't remember such an instance.
