I need to replace the fuel pump?

Someone put a sandwich bag with rice in the tank. I pulled the bag out and it broke and spilled the rice down inside the tank. I went to the gas station and tried to put gas in, but the nozzle kept clicking off and would not take any gas. Then the engine just stalled I checked and the fuel pump stopped working.
