White smoke coming form the exhaust

Whenever I start my 2003 ford winstar, white smoke pours out of the exhaust pipe. The smoke usually quits after driving the car for several minutes. The Ford dealer at first did not find anything wrong, and told me I needed to drive it more. I took it back a couple of days later and they then said I had bent rods and I should replace the motor. I have less than 50,000 miles on the vehicle and it runs great. What could be the problem?

I'd check with the dealer about any so-called hidden warranty on this situation, or if in fact your vehicle is still under warranty. No way a motor should be trashing itself at 50k. What size motor?
