Ook, so, here we go. We bought this van and after replacing the spark plugs, the wires, the distributor coil pack, the battery, the terminals, the fuel filter, the fuel lines. It still won't start. It will turn over and we can smell fuel on the spark plugs, but there's no blue spark when grounded. The Master Ford Mechanic we talked to said it was the crank shaft sensor. We removed it and it was extremely gross and covered in oil. Could this be the problem? Want to know before I buy the new one! Thanks for your help!

It was running perfectly fine before it got parked. It's not the starter, the alternator or the fuel pump! The fuel pump hums when you turn the key, but I can't remember if the check engine light stays on when you turn the key. Is this the problem?

Easy way to tell if you need it is put it back in and hook up a noid/solenoid light to it and crank engine it should flash with a decent rhythm and not be all erratic. If all seems to be flashing good then crank sensor may not be the problem.
