I DRIVE A 2000, FORD TAURUS WITH 85,000 MILES AND IT IS A v6. I HAVE A OIL LEAK AND THIS MORNING I NOTICED THERE WAS A YELLOWISH-GREENISH SUBSTANCE SPILLED TO THE RIGHT OF THE OIL STAIN. I ASKED AROUND AND PEOPLE HAVE SAID IT WAS EITHER ANTI-FREEZE OR POWER- STEERING. MY QUESTION IS HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK IT WOULD COST ME TO GETALL THIS FIX? OR SHOULD I JUST BUY A NEW CAR? I KNOW YOU CAN'T EXACTLY TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH OUT SEEING THE CAR. BUT CAN YOU GIVE ME A HYPOTHESIS.

THANK YOU

What is causing the oil leak? Are you having to add oil? Are you sure it's oil and not another fluid? Power steering maybe? Dirty power steering fluid could pass for oil, the other sure sounds like antifreeze. Why would you buy another car just because of a couple of leaks? Do you have a reliable local repair shop that could diagnose these problems for you? 85k miles is just about broken in, no reason to sell. Even if you had to drop the oil pan, no overly large expense compared to a new car. The antifreeze leak could just be a loose hose, or the radiator even, still no reason. Have someone look at it soon as possible

Thank you.I am going to have it looked at tomorrow. I don't know what is causing the leak. It looks like oil. But it could be dirty steering fluid. The yellowish fluid looks like anti-freeze. I asked a mech. And he said it could be anti-freeze or steering fluid. I don't have a regular mech, but I am trying to find one.
