I have a 2004 Ford Taurus SE, 80,000 mile. Sometimes there is gas smell inside the car. The car stalled today while I stopped at a slightly downhill driveway waiting for merging to traffic. "Low oil pressure" light was on, but then off after the car started later. Let a mechanic checked. Found oil pressure is normal, but a leak in A/C compressor. Could the leak in A/C compressor cause engine to stall? Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

The A/C places an extra-heavy load on the engine, so if you have a problem that gets worse when A/C is on, then that's par for the course. However, I don't suspect the the problem is caused by A/C.

I would take a look at the oil pressure sender. That's one component that needs to be accurate.

See if your car has set a code. Has the check engine light turned on at all?
