I'm not sure what's wrong with my car. Recently my car started stalling while I was driving. Then it started happening when I came to stops at traffic lights. To the point that it would even cut off. At first I thought it was my MAS sensor b/c my mercury cougar did the same thing. I replaced the sensor and it kept doing the same thing. Then my check engine light came on and I went to Auto Zone and the read-out said it was a misfire. I checked my plugs and wires and they're fine (I had just replaced my plugs a month prior). I went ahead and changed my wires to be on the safe side. In the process I discovered I had a hole in my pvc hose, so I replaced that. The other day, I drove my car to work and it was fine, but when I was going home my car wouldn't start. I left it there and tried it the next day and it started. Today, my check engine light is back on and it's still doing the same thing. Went back to Auto Zone and the readout is saying it's my MAS sensor. It hasn't been a month since I replaced it.

Any way you can post the actual code? It does dound like either a vacuum leak, or the IAC, or maybe a bad fuel pump. You may have a vacuum leak, get a can of spray throttle body cleaner, spray the vac lines and maniflod area, when the idle changes, youve found the leak! You want the engine running and spray on the outside but do direct the stream onto the hoses, if it is a vacuum leak, the engine idle will change speed, then you have detected a leak, repair the vacuum leak and see how it runs! If that doesnt do it, you may need a new idle air control valve, it's bolted to the throttlebody.

Check engine light on does it blink at times
check it for tune up check coil
have to scan for codes
once you have the code it will be much easier to pin point the troubled area
check PCV valve and vacuum lines

most local part stores and local shop can help you in getting the codes
for free check around
let me know what you have for codes
