When I accelerate the car to 60-65mph it start
to make a very loud humming noise and goes
away once I hit 80mph and isn't there when I am
at 50mph. Sounds like it is coming from the front
I am not sure what type of wheel drive it is
my Taurus is a 2002 DOHC 24 valve engine/V6

Theirs a butten under the shifter press it. It will fix the problem. Your car is not in overdrive. If it like my car the shifter is on the floor. And it only shows a D for drive but no circel around it. The butten is for overdrive. The car should allway be in overdrive unless towing something. If that does not help you have a transmission problem with your overdrive not kicking in. Good luck.

I took my car for an alignment this morning at the
Ford Dealership and they advised that the
Left Ball Joint, Left Tie Rod and Sway Bar Links
need to be replaced then my mechanic said
he doesn't believe the noise has anything to do with the engine etc. But that it might have to be with
the ball joint being so loose that is causes a loud
humming noise when I pick up spead. Have you heard of this before.
