The car drives fine, but when you are parked or when the car has come to a complete stop it seems to idle low and want to shut off. Maybe like not getting enough gas or air? Someone said try cleaning the carburator or the idle air control?

Ceaning the idle control valve sounds like a good spot to start, follwed by the egr valve and then throttle bore and intake valves, (no carburetor on this one)

Just to let you know I am not mechanically inclined, I am a Net Admin, learning to do this. Is there a good place on the web to get pics or should I just buy a Haynes manual or Chilton. Also is one better than the other?

Note:on fords do not use throttle cleaner. a little rubbing alcohol and a rag to wipe it.

For the intake valves, follow the directions regarding tha part about putting it into the vacuum line....save this for last and we can go through it.

Turns out the PCV elbow that connects the valve has a hole and is kind of in bad shape. I have taped it up for the time being and I am searching for one.

All of the auto shops can't get it and say I have to go through the dealer. So we will find out tomorrow. Hopefully they have it in stock.

Thank you for your help.
