1999 Ford Taurus Car Stalling

My car will not just crank. I have to start it and press the gas until it stays on itself. Then it pops on. If I dont hold the gas pedal down it faintly runs or cuts off completely. Can you please assist with an answer?

Replace the idle air control. Silver tube about 3 inches long by throttle body. Has a wire plug in and and 2 small bolts about 8 to 10 mm. Runs approx. $55 to 75.00 at autozone.
