My Taurus runs good. I know that it needs to have the front left wheel hub barrens changed. The major problem is that when I drive the car for a hour or more it will just cut off. If I wait for a hour or so it will start back up with not problem. The car does not over heat. When the car shuts off, there is a burning smell in the air. The check engine light is not on. I have changed the fuel filter on the car.

Yes, I have sprayed carb cleaner in it. It did not crank up. When you say iginition, do you mean the distributor, or spark plugs?

Don't have distributor and plugs maybe one but not all six. More likely crankshaft sensor but that should set code. Coil maybe? It may come down to PCM you say no engine light have you hooked up scanner? If not that may point to some fault.
