Hi everyone!

I have a 99 Ford Taurus – I just love the car, but I started having some AC problems a few days ago.

The AC works perfect when the car is at idle speed, but as soon as I start driving it around it dies in about 3-5 minutes, blowing hot air. Sometimes if I park the car and leave the engine running for a while it starts working again.
I just added some more refrigerant, and when the AC is running properly the gauge indicates approximately 50psi. I also checked the pressure after driving the car around a little bit, and the AC stops working and the gauge reads about 100psi.
Do you have any ideas what causes this? What can I do?
Thanks!

When the pressure get too high the switch should close and coolant fan run on high to cool the system and maintain normal pressure
if get way to high it will shut the clutch off
to prevent damage to the system

good luck
