1997 Ford Taurus trans swaps

I have a 1997 taurus with a 3.0 engine and a ax4n automatic, I also have a ax0d trans out of a 1993 taurus I want to know if I can use the ax0d trans in my 1997 if not why and what can I do to modify it to work? Thanx , bill

Not trans expert, but I don't think so. The axod, I think, eventually morphed in the ax4s, they are not the same. Even if it were installed, chances are your pcm program wouldn't properly be able to control it. Modifications I know nothing about, just find a rebuilt ax4n, updated with all the latest good pieces.
