I am changing altenator and I cant get the belt tensioner back into place the new altenator is in I just need to the tensioner back in.

Can you please explain your problem more, is the tensioner on the vehicle? Will it fit on the stud but not tighten will it not fit on the stud?

Is the belt on already?

Yes I replaced old altinator and now I cant get the belt back on nothing is wrong with the tensioner I just cant get the belt back on.

Are you loosening the tensioner and following the belt diagram to put it on?
