1996 Ford Taurus Cranking but not starting

1996 Ford Taurus 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic High miles

Hey guys, I have a 4 cyl 96 Taurus with high mileage. I recently replaced the exhaust manifold with another from a local pick and pull. As I was driving the vehicle home it did not run very well just didn't seem like it had the same power as it did before the swap. The next day I tried to start it but to no avail. It would crank over and over after a few times of that it would start, sputter, kick, backfire then die. Then nothing. Any help would be great.

Did you reconnect the O2 sensor?

Are you getting both spark and fuel to the engine? Will it start with starting fluid?
