Hello, my question is about a 93 ford taurus 3.0 with 160,000 miles. The problem originally started with the check engine light coming on. Then it went down hill and basically it smokes black and really puts out a black cloud when you get on the pedal hard and does not want to idle. Originally I read the codes and it said the EGR was bad so I replaced the EGR. Now to make a long story short I have since replaced both o2 sensors the fuel pressure regulator, all new fuel injectors, air charge temperature sensor, spark plugs rotor and cap.I am at a loss on why it is dumping so much fuel into the motor, it turns all the plugs black.I would appreciate any advice anyone has to share. Thanks much Dave in WI

Egr wouldn't cause black smoke in and of itself, have you done an actual fuel pressure test at the rail schrader valve? What was the code you received?

Thanks for the reply Tauruswheel, No I have not checked the fuel pressure(I need to buy a tester).I replaced the fuel tank, sending unit, pump and fuel filter this past april, so I was asuming everything was ok in that area. But I will be purchasing a fuel pressure tester next.I should also mention that the car shifts hard mainly while decelerating. Thanks I apreciate any other help available. Dave
