Ok so hears the deal I was driving down the highway and my car started to down shift and as soon as I pulled over and came to a stop it died and was smoking from the back side of the motor and wouldnt start back up so I had it towed but the next day it still wouldnt start so now that I replaced the battery it starts right up and it will run for about 20 mins then die. Unless I try and put it in gear then it automatically dies what could the problem be? Thanks for your help

Is it overheating?
Check coolant and if low add and pressure check for leak
Check fuel pressure and suspect fuel pump failure if low

No it is not overheating or at least the gage stays at about half way when warmed up. I dont understand why the car dies after I take it out of park and try to move the it.
