Do I have to pull the all the dash to change a heater core?

HEATER SYSTEMS - RANGER -2002 Ford Ranger

HEATER CORE

CAUTION:Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.

NOTE: If a heater core leak is suspected, heater core must be leak tested before it is removed from vehicle. See HEATER CORE under COMPONENT TESTS.

Removal & Installation
1.Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain cooling system. Disconnect and plug heater hoses from heater core tubes. From engine compartment, remove blower motor housing, if necessary, to gain access to plenum assembly nuts. Remove instrument panel .
Remove Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector. Remove nuts and PCM cover. Remove PCM. Remove ground strap and PCM heat sink.

2.Remove 4 nuts from engine side of fire wall and remove plenum assembly.

Remove heater core cover screws and heater core cover.

Remove heater core.
