Sometimes when you turn the blinker on, the windshield wipers come on. Since the switch isn't acually on for the windshield wipers, it takes a little monkeying around to get them to go off. The 'door ajar' light comes on at times and will not go off. I think that there may be a short somewhere in the wiring but am not sure where to look. The battery is fine but if the truck isn't driven for a few days, the battery has to be recharged. There seems to be something draining the battery. Any suggestions?

As far as the wipers go, you need to check the mutlifunction switch, here's how:

. As for the door ajar light, Get a can Brakekleen, and spray white lithium grease, spray the door latch liberaly with Brakekleen and open and close the door 4-5 times, repeat this 2-3 times, then grease it with the litium. Do this to all doors. If problem isnt solved by this the Gem will need testing, this can only be accomplished by reading the B codes with a Ford capable scanner...
