I have a 1999 ford ranger that I had to do the heater core on and the heater core is still leaking. I am a tech at a shop and this is the 4th heater core in there. I had an aftermarket one put in first, then a second and then I realized that maybe it had to be a ford part. So, I put on a ford motorcraft heater core on it and it went bad too. It leaks and I dont know why it keeps on taking down heater cores down. If you can please help, or tell me some tips on this I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Do you use the right coolant? Flushed the system? Maybe changed the hoses? They can split inside and not tighten properly. Then when the pressure builds to 16lbs, it will spray into the core area! Next time it happens, take the core to a radiator shop and pressure test it.
