Check engine light on?

Hello, there should be a horn relay and horn maxi fuse in fuse box under the hood, check voltage to those circuits. The problem is usually the horn pad or wiring in the column. If you use a jumper on the terminals for the load side of horn relay, the horn should honk.

The codes don't tell you what to replace, just that the computer thinks there is a problem on that circuit. As far as the 02 sensor code, you usually try to make the system go rich or lean, then see if the sensor reacts, if it does, the sensor is probably ok. Maybe another issue causing the system to go rich or lean? That wasn't much help, was it?

It is probably the bulb if all other lights work.

Removal
CAUTION:Do not pry on water thermostat (8575) to remove.

Drain the cooling system so that the coolant level is below the water thermostat as described in COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING.
Disconnect the heater return hose at thermostat housing located on the left front lower side of the engine (6007) (2.3L only). Disconnect engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT sensor) (12A648) connector (2.3L only).
Remove upper radiator hose (8260).
Remove the coolant outlet housing retaining bolts.
Pull the elbow away from the cylinder head (6049) or manifold sufficiently to provide access to the water thermostat. Remove the water thermostat and gasket.

I have been driving more than normal and my check engine light came on today. The engine is okay on all fluid levels and is not overheating. Is this most likely an O2 sensor or could it be anything? Is it safe to drive or do I have to get it checked right away?

Hi there,

This light is an indication that there is a problem, so I would not ignore it, get a scan done and report back your findings for more assistance.

I just bought this truck for work but I am having a problem figuring out this check engine light

The engine runs good, slightly rough idle and I don't think it is getting the best mileage. I also think it is quite low on power. I cleaned the MAF thinking this may be the cause but did not seem to change anything. I cleaned it with an electrical cleaner that does not leave any residue.

Also, once I reset the MIL code, it seems to reappear after about 50 miles but it will be quicker if I'm using my a/c, which cycles too much (probably low on refrigerant)

I'm not one to throw a lot of money at a vehicle with this many miles so hopefully you can help me. I don't like to replace parts until I'm sure they are bad.

The code I'm pulling is P0712 - System too rich (Bank 1)

Here is the info I got from the scanner:

I/M monitors:

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Possible causes include a bad O2 sensor, excessive fuel pressure (bad fuel pressure regulator or plugged return line), leaky fuel injectors, dirty air filter or restricted air inlet, or a defective coolant sensor that prevents the engine management system from going into closed loop mode

I removed the vacuum hose to see if there was any fuel in it but it was dry.

Also, what do you think would be the most likely cause? I looked at the O2 sensors and they actually look pretty new.

Thanks for your help!

You need a scantool to finger the oxygen sensor/s by viewing the switching activity/fuel trimmings-Your fuel mix is on the rich side-

When was the last tune up? Also, with that many miles, it could be starting to get low on compression. You may want to check that. Finally, I understand the fuel pressure is good, but does it drop off quick when you turn the key off?
