1995 Ford Ranger GETTING CRANKSHAFT PULLEY OFF

I am having a problem with the crankshaft turning while trying to loosen the nut any ideas how to stop it
? I have the truck in gear with tires blocked?

Use a 1/2 drive ratchet with small extension. Have someone hold the ratchet head tight on the nut and tap the ratchet handle with a hammer. The quick burst of torque will break it loose. Make sure your turning counter-clockwise.
