1987 Ford Ranger engine wont start

Normally the truck starts right away. However, after sitting for a
couple of months without using it, it wouldnt start. There is no spark at the plugs. There is a 12 volt reading at the coil
any suggestions?

Is anything leaving the coil? If not change the coil.

Yes, the ignition module go out all the time on these trucks, I would get a new one and install it which should fix the problem.
