Runs, shuts off and will not start

Starts and runs fine then warms and just like someone turns the key off it shuts off. Then will not start until the next day or a couple of hours later.

I don't think it's a electrical problem is it carbureted or fuel injected and how long will it run until it warms up or after it drops to idle speed if you get it moving will it stay running.

Thanks for the input Kim, I too have seen the catalytic converter cause this issue.
