1986 Ford Ranger Worth rebuilding?

1986 Ford Ranger V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic unknow miles

I have a 68 mustang 289 engine swapped into my truck and was wondering is it worth rebuilding because it smokes alot of blue smoke at idle but above 2k it doesn't. Is it worth rebuilding, should I buy a different motor, or just leave it? I plan on building the motor for power later on.

If you want power id go with a beefier motor and save the money for rebuilding and hte power mods.

If you want to rebuild suspect new piston rings and valve seals. Aroudn 300-500 for parts.

Probably get one at a junk yard for no more then 500 bucks.
