Hi MHpautos,

the engine is 6.4, the car size and model is a 1996 ford lincoln towncar, the car cuts off while in idling
I really appreciate your time and answers.

Thanks,

Do you mean 4.6?

I am a bit confused with this so lets start again shall we.

Lincoln town car 4.6 if this is correct the first thing you need to do is go get a scan and check for any unresolved fault codes, as the idle is controlled by the ECU, there is no manual settings to be made, the throttle body butterfly should be clean and free of any sludge, there should be no vacuum leaks and the fuel system filter should be replaced as the spark plugs and air filter if they have not been done in some time, if the throttle plate is as in the pic (check the No. Do not use any throttle body cleaner as it has a special protective deal that will be damaged)
