1986 mustang gt ho with 327,000 original miles. I just replaced the distributor module because my car would not start. Now it starts, but not after it warms up. If I drive it for 10 minutes then turn off engine and try to restart, it just turns over. I need to let it cool down; usually at least an hour, then it will start. Runs fine, and starts up right away. The new module is not a ford part because I was told it is not availble anymore. The new one is an ac delco. Could this be a factor?

No hot start can be caused by fuel perculating in the cylinders causing you to loose compression. It can also be caused by worn compressioj rings. With that many miles I suspect you need a ring job.

Pne way to tell is to do a wet dry compression test. That will tell you cylinder/ring wear. If it goes way up on a wet test then you need rings.

It is difficult to analyze sitting here at my computer but that is my best professional guess. Good luck
