1978 Ford Mustang V8 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 20000 miles

My mechanic told me I needed to buy a new battery, replace the EGR valve, and the steering wheel fluid hose. I went and bought the battery, put it in and tried to start the car. After a few tries, it started and I let it run for about 15 minutes (just sitting with the engine on in my driveway because the steering wheel fluid all but leaked out). I managed to get it in my garage and turn it off. Now that I tried to run it to find where the steering wheel fluid leak is coming from, it won't start. It just keeps on cranking. Where should I start? Thank you.

Start by disconnecting a sparkplug wire ground it to the engine and have helper crank engine over while you look for spark on the disconnected wire. Do you have spark?
