1971 Ford Mustang will not start

1971 Ford Mustang V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have 71 mustang I have had it a week. It ran out of gas now it will not start. I put gas in, used starter fluid, checked fuel fliter, changed plugs and I still can not get it started. If any ideas thanks, Chris

Check for ignition spark and get back asap

Even if the fuel pump is defective when using the starter fluid it should be able to fire up for a few secs and dies out if you are getting spark.
