2000 Ford Focus Knocking and Putting?

Its only when I make a complete stop and then go my car makes a knocking noise for a good two seconds and then stops. Also when I am going sometimes my car will put out a couple time and then just keep going? It has almost full tank of gas? Help Please!

This sounds like eng ping which could be caused by timing or cheap fuel. Usually a major eng knock will not go away.

You can try some gas additive and if you haven, t had a tune up recently and a fuel filter.
