Engine Performance problem
1965 Ford Fairlane V8 Automatic

my ford will start and run good for 3 to 5 miles. Then will die. After waiting about 15 minutes it will start and repeat the whole thing again. What is wrong? Have changed the fuel pump, the coil, the carberator, still does this.

Conventional or Electronic ignition system?

Could be vapor locking-check the fuel pressure.

Do this connect a jumper wire between the battery positive post and the coil positive terminal if it works could be the resistance wire or the ignition switch.
