I have an F250 turbo diesel 6.0L and never had a problem until yesterday when I tried to start it. It will turn over great but it will not even try to start. Batteries are brand new. Did notice that when I turn the ignition on that the fuel pump runs longer that usual as if its not priming. It usually runs about 5 seconds and cuts off but it will run 15 to 20 seconds before it stops now. Could bad fuel filters cause this, or is my fuel pump bad?

Hello,

It sounds like you could have an issue with the fuel pressure regulator. It could also have a clog in the which can prevent the pressure to reach its ideal value.
You might first want to change the fuel filter to see if that improves the issue.
Check the fuel pressure to see if there is sufficient amount.
You vehicle should have 45 PSI as idle.

Here is a helpful video on how to check fuel pressure:

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Thank you.
