I have a 2000 F150 single cab 4x2 w/man 5 spd tran w/4.2L v6 w/100,000+ miles and have recently started having a stutter problem when I accelerate. The truck is in excellent condition and has been maintained by myself above and beyond the recommended service requirements. New plugs and wires 2000 miles ago, new fuel filter & new air filter recently. I have been told it is the O2 sensor, but have read that it could be the coils. What do you think?

I think with 100,000+ on it it could be either! You must test the components. Any codes?

I have not checked the codes. I was told that if the "service engine soon" light does not come on, there wold be no fault code to check
