NOT STARTING!

FOR A 94 foRDMERCURY COUGAR MILEAGE ABOUT 150000 I have problem my car suddenly turned of when I was driving it so as it slowed down I had to park it. I tried starting it again and it would just turn over but not start. I had it towed to my house and now it doesnt even turn over. The only electrical things that are turn on are the power locks and the dome lights. The in-car clock doesnt even turn on. What could be the problem?

Check to see if your car has a pick up coil in it, if so test the alternator or take it to a shop to test it. They can test it off the car. Charge your battery and try again. If the battery is low and you have a pickup coil it won't spark.
