I have a 2002 f150 6 cyl with manual transmission. I need more power. Is it possible to install a 4.6L v8 in this truck that ford makes? Will it match to the transmission? What all would have to be changed out as well to make this possible?

To be honest, we always recommend direct fit replacements. Here is why. Remember, anything is possible when it comes to changing engines, but many problems occur when you make this type of change. Things such as motor mounts, vacuum hoses, wiring harnesses, the computer. All need to be changed. It should bolt to the transmission, but that is about the only thing that will match.

Honestly, it's not worth the effort and cost. What I have found and many others (the hard way) is that between the cost, frustration, parts, labor, and replacement of the wiring harness, vacuum hoses. It isn't worth it. It would be easier and cheaper for you to find one that has the 4.6L already in it. There were thousands made with the 4.6 and the 5.4L.

If you have other questions, let me know.
